Saha debut delights Moyes

Everton new boy Louis Saha won praise from manager David Moyes after an impressive first outing for the club in the 2-2 draw at Hull City.

The 30-year-old France international came on as a half-time replacement at the KC Stadium, despite being short of full fitness after a number of injury problems during his time with Manchester United.

Moyes told the club's official website: "Louis made a big difference to how we played when he came on. I was glad to get him out there.

"I don't think it was a gamble to play him. If I'd started with him, he'd have been happy, but I felt the best way was to bring him along slowly.

"He's not had many games, so we're gambling in that he hasn't played any reserve games and just been training for two weeks.

"I said when we signed him that if I could get him fit for half the games this season, then he could win us some points and that's what I'm hoping for.

"He's gone about his work well, quietly and there's no doubt there's a very, very talented footballer there and everybody I've spoken to has told me that.

"There were signs during the second half that he can give us that and, if he can, then it will be great for us."

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has urged Cristiano Ronaldo to ensure that he eventually leaves the club a hero with the Old Trafford faithful.

The 23-year-old Portugal ace had seemed set to quit United in the summer after making it known that he wanted to join Real Madrid, but opted to stay put after talks with Ferguson.

Ronaldo's start to the new campaign has been hampered by his recovery from ankle surgery, but he marked his first start this season with a goals in the 3-1 Carling Cup third round win over Middlesbrough.

Ferguson said afterwards: "I think Cristiano has come to accept that at this stage of his career, United is the place for him.

"Southern Europeans want at some point to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, so I understood what was going on in Cristiano's mind when he declared he wanted to join Real.

"But once we had talked he accepted it was a move for the future.

"I pointed out to him how much better it would be to leave like Eric Cantona, with the fans loving and appreciating him.

"The crowd still chant Cantona's name and I told Cristiano 'leave a hero like Eric' and one day he will, but not yet."

Cahill return boosts Megson

Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson is hoping the return from suspension of Gary Cahill can help kick-start his side's stuttering start to the new season.

Cahill has missed the Trotters' last three games following his red card in the Carling Cup defeat to Northampton Town last month.

Wanderers have picked up just one point during his absence, but Megson is delighted to have the former England Under-21 international back in his ranks for Saturday's trip to Manchester United.

"I think any team would miss that quality because I do happen to believe that he is the best young centre-half in the country," he told the club's official website.

"We have missed his qualities - he has got pace and he's good in the air. He's not the finished article yet but we were bound to miss him and it will be great to have him back.

"We need our better players out on the pitch because we haven't got a huge squad.

"He's been training all the time and he has done his work - he trains like a demon.

"It's probably not the ideal place to get chucked back in but I'm sure he'll relish it."

Meanwhile, Megson has revealed that Sweden striker Johan Elmander could also make his comeback from a hamstring injury at Old Trafford.

Roman reveals Spurs shock

Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko has revealed his shock at the intensity of training sessions at his new club.

The 26-year-old Russia international joined the north London club in a £13.8million deal on transfer deadline day and has endured a difficult start to life in England with a side struggling at the foot of the table.

The former Spartak Moscow striker has made two appearances in which he has failed to make any real impact and Pavlyuchenko has spoken of his surprise at the work he has been required to put in during training sessions.

"In England they have a different system of training," he told Russian media.

"Right now the games are on Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday. The training is like this - those who played get to recover and the rest do light training with the ball. It's not that tough.

"But when there is a week's gap between games, training is serious. I barely survived it when I'd just arrived.

"I looked at my watch and saw that the training session had gone on for exactly two hours! Then another half-an-hour in the gym. Two-and-a-half hours. Can you imagine that?

"I trained like never in my life before. The weights started to get to me, and I stopped and said to the trainer, 'I can't do this'.

"That's how they work. I'm shocked. I thought it would be a lot easier."

Scolari snaps up Mineiro

Chelsea manager manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has added Brazilian midfielder Mineiro to his squad to cover for the long-term absence of Michael Essien.

Ghana international Essien is likely to miss most of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament earlier this month while playing for his country.

Mineiro was a free agent after being released by Hertha Berlin at the end of last term and becomes the third Brazilian player at Stamford Bridge where he joins compatriots Juliano Belletti and Alex.

The defensive midfielder, who has represented his country on 24 occasions, has penned a deal that will keep him with the Blues until the end of this season.

Scolari said of Mineiro on the club's official website: "He is a player that I need because I lost Michael Essien for six months. I have one midfielder like him, (John Obi) Mikel.

"So this week he will not play, but maybe after 15 days to two weeks, he is ready to play normal games.

"He needs to play some games in the reserve team, and for me it is very good because I have one more player in this position. If not I have to put in Belletti or (Paulo) Ferreira, or (Michael) Ballack, and they are not for this position.

"I say to fans of Chelsea, if they remember (Claude) Makelele, Mineiro is the same. Good positionally, a very good marker. He is a man that works for the other players and he is also a good man outside of the pitch."

Tevez: City Pesaing Baru MU

Timnas Brasil (AFP/Vanderlei Almeida)Berita Bola: Teresopolis - Badai tekanan tengah menerpa Brasil akibat penurunan performa mereka.

Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2010 Tanpa Frings & Ballack, Jerman Tetap Pede

Pelatih Joachim Loew sedang mempersiapkan skuadnya guna menghadapi dua laga penting babak kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2010.

David Beckham

I’ve been told that I’m the biggest David Beckham fan people have ever met. I assure you that I don’t go gaga over his pics, but as a player he is everything you’d expect - extremely hard-working, talented, gives 110% every time and is flawed as well as simple genius.

Becks had an illustrious career with Manchester United before being kicked out by SAF and thrown Real Madrid’s way, who then proceeded to shoot themselves in the foot by giving him a poor contract which led him to head towards LA Galaxy, where Becks will, in all likelihood, end his professional career.

He’s been excellent for England as well, both under Eriksson and under McClaren (who saw the light finally and picked him for the national team).

Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson - one of the most successful managers in footballing history, SAF has had 20 years at the top, and what contrasting times they have been - turning the team around in the late 80s before launching an assault on the new Premiership that has led Manchester United to 9 league titles (so far).

Ferguson should be remembered for the collective style his teams employ, attacking and defending in droves and staying disciplined without sacrificing creativity. He will also be remembered for his bustups with some of his best players - it’s a heavy price to pay for greatness, but it’s a price any Manchester United fan would pay.

You can catch a selection of Sir Alex Ferguson’s most famous quotes on the SAF page on Red Rants - the best Manchester United blog around.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most hated, respected, ridiculed and loved football stars today.
He is a true icon - splitting public opinion right down the middle. A Portuguese national and a Manchester United star, the right-winger had a career-changing 2006/2007 season, when he came in off an excellent World Cup performance (although people only remembered the diving and the Rooney incident) and led Manchester United to their first Premiership title in four years.

He’s a good player, that boy Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo scored with an American beauty called Jen on Thursday, and the next night substituted her for a Scottish stunner.

The 23-year-old—dubbed a ‘slave' by FIFA president Sepp Blatter because Man U want to tie him to his £120,000-a-week contract— might be out injured after an ankle op, but he's footloose and fancy free after dumping Spanish babe Nereida Gallardo.

So while he was in LA to meet talent agents, he took the chance to eye a bit of local talent himself.

A friend of first conquest Jen told how he sweet-talked her.

"She genuinely thought he was interested and that's why she spent the night with him," said the pal.

He arranged to meet Jen again on Friday night at LA's swanky Villa nightclub—but gave her the slip to make a killer pass at the mystery Scot.

The pal said: "He acted like Jen didn't exist.A Scottish girl appeared and he was all over her like a rash. Jen was so upset she stormed off home."

Meanwhile Nerida, 24, has been telling pals she and Ronaldo are still an item.

She told one: "He doesn't understand all the rumours he's dumped me and says he hasn't taken any girls home. Unless there's any proof to suggest otherwise, I believe my boy."

Man Utd Football Transfer Rumours "??"

UEFA Euro 2008 is over, it is time for Football Transfer. Sir Alex Ferguson is planning to buy some young players to strengthen the squad. There are some English football transfer rumours about Manchester United, which are :

1. Bastian Schweinsteiger

Bastian Schweinsteiger had a good performance during the Euro 2008, so it makes sense that Man Utd is interested on signing this player. I think Bastian Schweinsteiger would be a great replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, if he leaves Manchester United.

2. Roque Santa Cruz

Roque Santa Cruz performed well with Blackburn during last season English Premier League. Man Utd needs tall strikers like him to replace Louis Saha who is prone to injury. Good investment for Man Utd.

3. Karim Benzema

Karim Benzema performed well with Olympique Marseille but didn't performed well with France national team during Euro 2008. So the price of Karim Benzema wouldn't increase after the Euro 2008. Karim Benzema is also a good investment because he is young and has a promising talent.

I think Man Utd is unlikely to buy all the three players above, Roque Santa Cruz has the biggest probability because he has proven himself during last season English Premier League and more affordable. Any views ?

Inter Milan Football Transfer Rumours "Milan"

There are some football transfer rumours around Inter Milan. It is because new coach means new taste.

From some football transfer rumours that were spread, there are two player criterias that Jose Mourinho want Inter Milan to buy, which are :

1. Football players from Portugal
  • Ricardo Quaresma from FC Porto
  • Deco from Barcelona FC

2. Jose Mourinho 's ex team squad members

  • Didier Drogba from Chelsea FC
  • Frank Lampard from Chelsea FC
  • Ricardo Carvalho from Chelsea FC

Ronaldinho to AC Milan

Big news from Football transfer market ! it's a football transfer news, not a football transfer rumour or football transfer speculation anymore. The deal is done. Finally, Ronaldinho will be transferred from Barcelona FC. Where ? it's not Manchester City, it's AC Milan. I don't know why Barcelona decided to let Ronaldinho moved to AC Milan, although Manchester City is offering more money and Man City is not Barca 's competitor.

I think Ronaldinho would be a great help for AC Milan to compete with Inter Milan next season. I know that Ronaldinho is not in a good condition, but optimist that AC Milan staffs could bring him back to his very best. If this happens, AC Milan would have the most dangerous Brazilian attacking formation. Can you imagine how Kaka, Alexandre Pato, and Ronaldinho would play together ? Jose Mourinho and Inter Milan should pay attention to AC Milan new strengths.

Good job for AC Milan ! Hopefully, AC Milan decision to invest in Ronaldinho would pay off soon !

Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer to Real Madrid, Why not ?

If Cristiano Ronaldo wants to be transferred to Real Madrid from Manchester United, why not ? there are 4 reasons why i agree if Cristiano Ronaldo wants to go :
  • Every football players have rights to decide their own future. Cristiano Ronaldo should be the one who decide his future, not Manchester United.
  • Manchester United has Nani. He has the same playing style with Cristiano Ronaldo.
  • Besides Man Utd, Real Madrid is also my favorite football clubs.
  • I am curious about who would replace Cristiano Ronaldo and wear MU no. 7 jersey. I bet Sir Alex Ferguson is capable to find his replacement.

So, if Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave, why not ? but i prefer for him to stay in Manchester United. Any views ?
